Michael Kaltenbach

Kentucky Post, Thursday, 14 September 1899, page 5

A joyful reunion took place Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Emma Mason, 837 Central Avenue, Newport, when her father, Michael Kaltenbach returned after an absence of 30 years. He disappeared from home because of a family quarrel and for years his family have thought him dead. Wednesday he returned. Kaltenbach said he had been in almost every country on the globe since his departure.

He claimed to be wealthy and told his daughter he intended to take her and another daughter, Mrs. Jennie Connors, of 1037 Columbia Street, Newport to Europe. Kaltenbach was a veteran of the Civil War and was formerly well known in Newport.
