DEATH

Funeral of Matthew Steffen, 76, lifelong resident of Alexandria and Newport, who died Sunday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Frank Smith, 1077 John-st, Newport, will be held Wednesday, 9 a.m. with requiem high mass at St Stephen’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Alexandria.
Steffen is survived by seven children, six sisters, four brothers, 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
