The leave of absence granted to Captain Mathew E Saville,
Twenty-seventh Infantry, is extended seven days. Captain Saville, who expected
to return here for duty with his company this week, is detained by the illness
of his wife at Ft Sheridan.

Captain Mathew E Saville, Mrs. Saville and family are expected here from Fort Sheridan either tonight or Sunday and will reside at Quarters No 53, Officers Row. Captain Saville will assume command of Company C immediately upon arrival.

Captain Mathew E Saville, commanding Company E, Twenty-seventh Infantry is experimenting and measuring available distance sites on the reservation with a view to the selection of a suitable range for pistol practice. All officers and noncommissioned officers at the post will have practice on the range after it is established.
