Mrs. Mary Peters, 86, residing with her son at 826 Saratoga st. Newport, fell down a flight of stairs at her home and sustained a fracture of two ribs. Owing to her extreme age it is feared the injuries may prove fatal. Mrs. Peters had been in her room on the second floor of her residence when it is thought she attempted to descend the stairs.

She lost her balance and fell to the bottom where she was found by her daughter in law. This is the second accident that has occurred in the Peters family within the past month. About a month ago John Peters, the husband of the woman, slipped and fell on the ice near his home and died several days later.
