WOMAN, 99, SUCCUMBS IN ORIGINAL HOME
A member of one of Northern Kentucky's oldest families, Mrs. Mary Taliaferro Ives, 99, 810 North Ft Thomas Avenue, Ft Thomas, will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery following service Tuesday at 2:30 pm in the Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft Thomas.
She died Saturday in the original family home built in 1814 by her father, the late William R Taliaferro. She was born in that house and lived there for the past several years. Death followed a brief illness.
Mrs. Ives was the widow of Caleb Ives, founder of the former Globe Soap Co, Cincinnati, which was purchased by the Proctor and Gamble Co.
For 89 years she was a member of the Highland Methodist Church which was founded in her fathers house in 1830. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Florence Taliaferro, with whom she lived; two nieces, Misses Ernestine and Louise Taliaferro; and two nephews, Col Lucian Taliaferro, United States Army, retired, and William R Taliaferro, operator of Mt. Pleasant Gardens nursery, all of the North Ft Thomas Avenue address.
