Mary
Hanke
Kentucky Post, Friday, 23 January 1903, page 5
James Nealens, who is employed at the Healy whisky house on Monmouth street, Newport, told Patrolmen Conlan and Flynn a sensational story of a holdup of a little girl Thursday night. He said the little one gave her name as Mary Hanke and said she lived on Ann Street.
She was found by the patrolmen and told how she had been knocked down and 25 cents in money taken from her. She says the hold up took place at Orchard Street, between Tenth and Eleventh. The police are investigating.
