DEATH
The funeral of Mrs. Mary Gatchel, a former pioneer resident of
Newport, whose death occurred at the home of Andrew Gatchel in Norwood Sunday,
took place this afternoon, the interment being in Evergreen Cemetery.
The decedent was the widow of Nathan Gatchel, who died about 10 years ago at the age of 91. Only three months ago she celebrated her ninetieth birthday anniversary. She was a resident of Newport for 50 years until three years ago when she went to Norwood to live with her son.
Two daughters, Mrs. Oliver Thompson, of Newport; Mrs. L T Hubbard, of Covington and two sons, Albert and Andrew Gatchel, survive her.
