CALIFORNIA-Marilyn Jean Frazier, 86, died Monday March 16, at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. Ms. Frazier served as an Army nurse in the Philippines during World War II. She was a member of the VFW, Daughters of the American Revolution and California Christian Church. She was proceeded in death by a daughter, Connie Frazier.

Survivors include daughters Marcy Dobbs of California and Beth Cahill of Bassett Va. five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation is noon-2 pm Saturday, March 28, followed by the funeral at Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria. Burial will be private.

Marilyn Jean Frazier was born 19 July 1922 in Wolfeboro, Carroll County, New Hampshire, the daughter of Noyes Vennett Moore and Evangline Vaughn. She was a graduate of the Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing at Dartmouth College in Hanover New Hampshire. She joined the Army Nurse Corp in June 1945 from Wolfeboro NH until 1946, served as 2nd Lt. on the hospital ship St Miheil in Manila Philippines.

She married James Arthur Frazier in 1947.
