HEIR DIED-The will contest of Maria Katherina Wiewerig, by her daughter, Mrs. Smith of Dayton Ky. was settled Saturday in Judge Hissem's court in Newport. The case was a peculiar one and the death of another daughter, Miss Elizabeth Wiewerig, about two weeks ago, was the cause of a speedy settlement. When Mrs. Maria Wiewerig died, she left her estate to her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wiewerig. Mrs. Smith, another daughter, contested on the grounds of undue influence and incompetency on the part of her mother.

During the progress of the case Elizabeth Wiewerig died and left her estate about $6000, one-third to Agnes Schleuter and two-thirds equally between Henry Schleuter Jr. and Agnes Mountain and the St Joseph Orphans Home. James C and Ben Wright, the attorneys in the case, then made a compromise with Mrs. Smith, whereby she got one-third of the mother's estate, about $3000, ad probated the will of Elizabeth Wiewerig.
