With the passing of Mrs. Mary Mathews, who died Friday afternoon, the old veterans of 61 and 75 lose one of their best friends. Mrs. Mathews was a nurse during the Civil War and she tenderly cared for the gallant men who were injured.
She was an inmate of the Campbell co. Infirmary
and was nearly 100 years old. She will be buried in Cold Spring Cemetery in a
spot chose by her a few days before her death.
