Lyman H and Amelia Rugg


Lyman H Rugg was born in 1800 in New Hampshire and came to Campbell County as a young man. His first marriage was to Prudence Woodberry 7 Nov 1818 in Newport. His second marriage was to Amelia Baxter 4 July 1830 in Newport. Amelia Baxter was born in Virginia in 1797. In the 1850 census Lyman was living in Newport and working as a bar keeper. He died 13 September 1855 in a boating accident.

Charles Lyman Rugg served in the Indiana Cavalry Regiment D Company D during the Civil War mustered out as a Lieutenant.

Virginia Rugg was very involved in the Equal Rights Association in Kentucky and served at the state level as well as the local level.
