Lyman H and Amelia Rugg
Lyman H Rugg was born in 1800 in New Hampshire and came to
Campbell County as a young man. His first marriage was to Prudence Woodberry 7
Nov 1818 in Newport. His second marriage was to Amelia Baxter 4 July 1830 in
Newport. Amelia Baxter was born in Virginia in 1797. In the 1850 census Lyman
was living in Newport and working as a bar keeper. He died 13 September 1855 in
a boating accident.
Amelia Baxter Rugg died 12 May 1873 in Newport and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery. 1873 Obituary

Virginia Rugg was very involved in the Equal Rights Association in Kentucky and served at the state level as well as the local level.
