We are informed that about one hundred men left Newport Barracks on Thursday afternoon for Jefferson Barracks. A portion of them belonged to the Rifles, Dragoons and Infantry, all bound for California.
Among them were Lt. Russell and his company that we spoke of as having arrived by the cars a few days ago.
