DEATH OF LIEUTENANT PERRY, of the FIFTH OVC-A telegram was
received Monday evening from Charles Owens, of the steamboat Silver Moon,
announcing the death of Lieutenant David Perry, of his city, son-in-law of the
wife of Samuel Manning, of the firm Manning & Co of this city.
No particulars of his death have been received, but it is supposed to have occurred from a wound received in the same skirmish in which the lamented Hayes met his death.
The remains will reach here on Wednesday
evening, on the Silver Moon. Due notice of the time and place of his funeral
will be given on tomorrow. Any members of the Fifth OVC that may be
in the city are requested to call at No 98 George street, this morning at eight
o'clock.
