NEWPORT SOLDIER KILLED IN INVASION-Pvt. Louis A Moore, 23, of 406 Saratoga street, Newport, was killed in the invasion of France June 6, according to a telegram received Friday by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Edward C Moore. He was attached to the Signal Corps. Pvt. Moore entered the Army in September 1942 and was sent overseas in November 1943. Prior to entering the Army he was an employee of the Newport Rolling Mill. He attended Newport High School.

He leaves his parents, two brothers, Vernon and Fenton Moore; a half brother, Clifford Johnston and a sister, Betty Moore, all of Newport.
