DEATH
The death of Mrs. Louise Wendt, which occurred this morning at the family residence, 706 Monmouth st. Newport, marks the passing away of one of the most widely known residents of Campbell co. She was the widow of Henry Wendt, a pioneer merchant of Newport and was 76 years old.
Mrs. Wendt had been ill for several months due to her advanced age and her death was not unexpected. The deceased had been a resident of Newport for 50 years.
She leaves a grown family of 10 children, five sons and five daughters. The sons are all prominent business men of Newport. They are Edward, Albert, Louis, Fred and Erwin. The daughters are Mrs. Birdie Nippert and Mrs. Amelia Wendt of St Paul Minn. Mrs. Anna Price, Mrs. Charles Willis and Miss Alice. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.

The funeral of Mrs. Louise Wendt, widow of
Henry Wendt, Newport, took place at 9 p.m. today, with services at Salem M E
Church. Rev Richard Plueddemann pastor of the church, conducted the
funeral service, after which the remains were taken to Evergreen Cemetery for
interment. Four sons of the deceased acted as pallbearers.
