NEWPORT PASSING OF PIONEER
Mr. Louis Derrick, 78, a resident of this city for 60 years, died
at his home on Patterson street, near Eighth. The deceased was the father of 14
children, 10 of whom are living.
Last year he and his wife celebrated their golden wedding. His widow is seriously ill and will not survive him long. He leaves five daughters, Mrs. Thos Evans, Mrs. Frank Heile, Mrs. William Hecking, Mrs. Ida Botton, Mrs. Emma Lampe, and five sons, Messrs. Frank, Louis, George, John and Charles Derrick.
