Louis Fred Schrader
Kentucky Post, Saturday, 11 June 1910, page 2
Louis F Schrader, of Columbia st. Newport, underwent an operation yesterday at Speers Hospital in Dayton. Several weeks ago Schrader, while scratching his leg opened a pimple and several days later a sore developed. But little was thought of it at the time. A few days ago the limb began to swell and grew to twice its normal size and a physician was consulted.
Schrader was ordered to Speers and the case was kept under surveillance for several days and yesterday the limb had to be amputated, as it was feared that blood poisoning was settling in. The member was taken off just below the knee and Schrader was reported as doing very nicely this morning by the hospital authorities. He has been identified with the cement contracting business for years and is well known in business circles.
