RITES SET-Requiem High Mass for Louis J. Burkart, 65, Newport photographer, who died Tuesday at his home, 13 N. Crescent avenue, Ft. Thomas, will be sung at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Church, following prayers at the Radel funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.

VETERAN DIES

Louis Burkart, widely known Newport photographer, died Tuesday at his home, 13 N. Crescent avenue, Ft. Thomas, following an illness of two weeks. Mr. Burkart had been engaged in the photography business in Newport for 52 years and for the last 40 years maintained his studio at 644 Monmouth street.

He was 65. He was a member of the Photographers Association of America, St. Stephens Court, Catholic Order of Foresters; Newport Council, Knights of Columbus, and Newport Eagles

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Burkart; a daughter, Miss Ruth Burkart; two sons, Herman and Robert Burkart; all of Ft. Thomas; a brother, Edwin Burkart, Clearwater, Fla., and seven grandchildren.

Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Church, Ft Thomas.  The funeral will be from the Radel Funeral Home, Newport, at 8:30 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Stephens’ Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.
