Mrs. Louisa Massminster, 54, of Bellevue, was struck by an electric car near Beech Avenue, Newport, about 6:30 pm Wednesday and severely injured. She was walking toward Newort and stepped away from a westbound car directly in front of one going in the opposite directions. She was violently thrown to the ground and rendered unconscious.
She was placed on the westbound car and taken to Front and Washington Avenue, where Dr. Stine, who had been summoned, rendered the necessary medical aid. She sustained an ugly gash at the base of the brain and numerous bruises about her body.
