Loomis-Casson-Pearson Cemetery
Grants Lick
This cemetery is on Morning View Road in Grants Lick, but does not have any headstones left to identify. There are several field stones however and the names and information comes from the family files at the Campbell County Historical Society in Alexandria.
The following is from a letter of Bryan Baker, descendant of Thomas Jefferson Baker who lived on Morning View Road next to the William Casson and Charles Pearson familes.
" When Charley Pearson (d-1943) lived there (in the log cabin) He had to duck each time he went in and out of the door for the door was built for a shorter person. I've attended several funerals at the cemetery across from Charlie Pearson's. The corpse was always hauled in a horse drawn hearse. Generally Ben Thornton's team was used as he had a fine looking team. Others have told me in bad weather, they were brought in on a horse drawn sled."
