DIED OF LOCKJAW
Mrs. Lizzie Luck, a widow, 80? years of age, living at Persimmons Grove, some time ago, cut a corn from the small toe of her right foot. Blood poisoning set in. The toe was amputated, but the entire limb began to swell to such a state that the doctors found it necessary to amputate it above the knee.
Four hours later lockjaw set in and the unfortunate woman died in agony.
