RUNAWAY ACCIDENT-Lewis Clark, 23, of Persimmon Grove, is lying at his home with a dislocated hip and other severe injuries, sustained in a runaway accident at 430 pm Wednesday. Clark, with Richard Wheeler, of the same place, took a drive on the Alexandria Pike and when near Evergreen Cemetery, two miles south of Newport, the horse took a fright. Wheeler jumped from the vehicle, but Clark held to the lines and when the bottom of the long hill at that place was reached, the vehicle struck some obstruction. The horse proceeded on and Clark was dragged for several squares.

Clark was unconscious when found and was removed to the home of his father, Byrd Clark, where Drs. G W Regan and Houston attended him.
