Pfc. Leonard Eugene Tuemler, 19, one of four sons of Mr. and Mrs.
William Tuemler, Ranshaw road, Highland Heights, is missing in action in the
Italian theater of war his parents were notified Saturday by the War department.
Pfc Tuemler, a member of the infantry forces invading Italy, has been reported
missing in action since Jan 5.
The missing infantryman was inducted into service March 1, 1943 and has been on overseas duty since Sep 1. Sergt. Robert S Tuemler, a brother, is stationed with the US forces in the Australian theater while two other brothers, Corp. Vernon, is stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss. and Corp Louis is at Waterburg SC.

Mr. and Mrs. William Tuemler, 148 Ranshaw road, Highland Heights, had been notified Monday by the War Department that their son, Pvt. Leonard E Tuemler, who was with the Army in Italy, has been missing in action since Jan 5.
Pvt. Tuemler, who is 19, entered the service Feb 29, 1943. Prior to that time he attended St Joseph School. His three brothers are also serving in the Army: Corp Robert Tuemler, 23 in Australia, and overseas more than two years, having enlisted 3 1/2 years ago; Corp Louis V Tuemler, 21, entering the service a year ago and stationed at Waterboro, SC and Corp Vernon Tuemler, 25, stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss. The latter will be in the service three years in April.
Mr. and Mrs. Tuemler have three other sons, Paul and Norbert, who are at home, and William living in West Virginia, who is married and has four children. Mr. and Mrs. Tuemler also have three daughters, Ruth, who is at home, Mrs. Elizabeth Guets of Dayton, and Mrs. Estelle Esquidiro of Florida.
