Well known Campbell County resident passed away after a long
illness. Leonard Trapp 62, a pioneer resident of Campbell County and
eldest brother of John Trapp, whose death occurred recently in Philadelphia,
died last night at his home on Licking Pike. He had been ill for some
months past, but it was not thought his ailment was of a serious character and
the announcement of his demise came as a surprise to residents of Newport and
throughout the city and county.
He was quite wealthy and besides being the owner of the Licking Turnpike was also the holder of considerable real estate. He leaves a family of grown children, one of his sons John being in business in Newport.

The funeral of Leonard Trapp, the wealthy
Campbell County man, whose death occurred Friday at this home, two miles west of
Alexandria, took place Sunday afternoon. Services were held at the
Alexandria Lutheran Church. Interment at Alexandria Cemetery.
