FT THOMAS-Joseph (sic) Crawford of Ft Thomas, recently discharged from the Twenty-seventh Infantry, has accepted a position with the South Covington & Cincinnati Street Railway Company. His family will continue to reside in this district.

HEART ATTACK IS FATAL-Leonard J (Len) Crawford, prominent attorney and figure in local, state and national Republican circles, is dead, succumbing to a heart attack Saturday night at his home, 66 Blue Grass avenue, Ft Thomas. He was 57. although he had been suffering from a heart condition, Mr. Crawford appeared to have fully recovered and attended the weekly call of the motion docket Saturday in Judge Ray L Murphy's Campbell Circuit Court.

Returning to his home late Saturday, Mr. Crawford was stricken and his brother, Dr. Clay Crawford, Ft Thomas, was summoned. He failed to rally after being administered stimulants and died. The lawyer was stricken with a heart condition last fall and later resumed his practice of law in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati after a brief rest in Florida.

Born in Newport, Mr. Crawford attended local public schools and later graduated from the Franklin School, Cincinnati. Later he graduated from Yale University and the University of Cincinnati Law School. In 1910 he associated himself with his father, the late Col. L J Crawford, in the practice of law. After his father's death in 1925, he continued to maintain his father's law office in the American National Bank Building, Fourth and York streets.

Mr. Crawford was active in state and federal bar association work, having served as commissioner of the state bar association and later as president. On a number of occasions he served as a delegate to national and federal bar association conventions. Mr. Crawford was among the oldest members of the Campbell County Bar Association in the point of service and served as president on several occations. Mr. Crawford was always active in local, state and national GOP affairs for many years.

The corporate lawyer never married and made his home with his aunt Mrs. Hattie McGinnis, widow of the late William McGinnis, Ft Thomas, since the death of his mother, Mrs. Ella Horner Crawford several years ago. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at the Dobbling funeral home, Ft Thomas. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
