The Court of Appeals Wednesday reversed the decision of Judge Hodge's court in the case of Charles Clark vs. Al Young. The case was brought up in Newport in the estate of Ringo heirs and L J Crawford, as attorney, was allowed $1400 fees.

Arguments were made this morning in the Campbell Circuit Court before Judge Berry in the suit of Harry Spinks against the United States Life Insurance Company, of New York, involving a life insurance policy of $25,000 on the life of the late Charles Spinks, whose death occurred several years ago by accidental drowning in the Ohio River. Attorney L J Crawford of Newport, represented Spinks.

Leonard J Crawford Sr. 65, prominent Campbell Co attorney, of 66 Blue Grass av. Ft Thomas is dead. He died early Sunday at his home of a heart attack. Altho he had been ill for several months, his death was sudden. He suffered a heart lesion and was convalescing nicely from hi ailment when the fatal attack occurred.

Crawford was born in Newport, April 29, 1860 and graduated from Hughes High School, Cincinnati. He received his LLB degree two years later from the Cincinnati Law College and was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in the same year He married Ella J Horner He was also well known in political circles, he having been a Republican candidate for attorney general of Kentucky in 1891 and a presidential elector in 1892.

Crawford served as president of the Republican Kentucky State League from 1893 to 1895 and was president of the National Republican Club in 1897. He was prominent in the conduct of Republican affairs both locally and nationally and was a member of a committee to prepare for the General Assembly bills for the restricting of the state and amendments to election laws in 1909. Crawford was the only Campbell co resident to have his name and history appear in the nationa "Whos Who" book.

One of the most memorable criminal trials in which Crawford participated was that of the famous and world known Jackson and Walling trial following the murder of Pearl Bryan. He represented Scott Jackson in the trial while the late Colonel George Washington was counsel for Walling. He also represented the Chesapeak & Ohio RR Co for a number of years.

Crawford for more than 15 years acted as chief counsel for the Green Line street car company. He retired from this position about five years ago. He was recognized as one of the best and most capable constitutional lawyers in Kentucky in which matters he was considered an authority. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Odd Fellows.

Funeral services for Crawford will be conducted from the residence Tuesday at 2:30 pm. The services will be conducted by Rev J P Strotheres, pastor of the Hiland Methodist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be C W Simrall, W C Sanders, Judge James C Wright, Judge Joseph W O'Hara, D C Kellar and John F Store. His widow, Ella J Crawford and two sons, Leonard J Jr. well known Campbell co. attorney and Dr. Clay Crawford of Ft Thomas survive him.

Page 14-Funeral of Leonard J Crawford Sr. 65, attorney, of 66 Blue Grass av. Ft Thomas, will be held Tuesday, 2:30 pm at his residence. Burial is to be in Evergreen Cemetery. He died Saturday of heart disease. Crawford was chief counsel for the Green Line traction interests and the Andrews Steel Co. He represented Scott Jackson, defendant in the Pearl Bryan murder.

The attorney served as president of the Republican State League of Kentucky and president of the National Republican League.
