SUCCUMBS: J Len Plummer, 62, former Campbell County police chief, died late Friday at his home, 43 Klainecrest avenue, Ft Thomas. He was the son of the late Jule Plummer, former Campbell county sheriff, who was in office during the Pearl Bryan case.

Suffered Heart Attack Following Christmas Eve Visit to Lodge
J Len Plummer, former chief of the Campbell County Police and son of the late Jule Plummer, former sheriff of Campbell county, died late Friday at his home 43 Klainecrest avenue, Ft Thomas. He was 62.
Mr. Plummer informed his wife, Mrs. Helen Veith Plummer, that he felt ill after returning from the Newport Elks lodge, where he made his usual Christmas eve visit.
LIFE SQUAD CALLED
When his condition became worse, Mrs. Plummer called the Ft Thomas life squad. Its members reported that he was dead of an apparent heart attack when they arrived. Mr. Plummer's father was sheriff of Campbell county in 1897 when Scott Jackson and Alonzo Walling were hanged for the murder of Pearl Bryan.
Mr. Plummer who held office from 1938 until 1944, was a fire hose salesman prior to becoming police chief.
OTHER SURVIVORS
Besides his widow he leave two sisters Mrs. Jessie Aulick of Los Angeles Cal. and Mrs. Irene Evans of Cincinnati and a brother Wayne Plummer of Miami Fla. The Charles A Smith funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
