According to Jim Callahan of the White Sox, it was the Old Roman himself who cured his third bagman of a fatal weakness on the inside. "When Lee Tannehill first joined us he had a bad habit of pulling away from the plate when batting. One day Comiskey on the green with us, walked up while Tannehill was batting and drawing a ling with his foot, said; This line right up against the plate, is the big league and this line, away from it is the minor league. Be careful not to put your foot in the minor league for if you do perhaps you won't be able to pull it out."
