Plans for a celebration to honor 220 Southgate veterans of World War II were discussed Wednesday night at a meeting of Southgate city council. Kirby Morris, a veteran of World War I, was selected as grand marshal and George L Breiel, former mayor will be principal speaker. Organizations have been asked to notify Mr. Morris of the number of persons who will participate in the parade.

Services will be held at 10 am Monday at the Erschell funeral home, Ft Thomas for Kirby Morris, painting contractor, who died Thursday at Booth Hospital Covington. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Morris, 60, a veteran of World War I, made his home at 713 Columbia street, Newport. He was a trustee of First Baptist Church, Newport; a member of Newport Rotary Club; Campbell County Chamber of Commerce; Robert D Johnson Post, American Legion and John R Little Post Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a director of the Grand Central Building and Loan Association, Newport.

Mr. Morris leaves his widow, Thelma and a daughter, Mrs. John Chevalier Jr. Erlanger.
