Kentucky Post, Friday, 3 July 1942, page 4
Lieut. Keith D Cloe, son of Rev J Newton Cloe, 845 York street, Newport, was to receive his wings Friday at graduation exercises at Moody Field, Valdosta Ga. A promotion is likely to accompany the award, relatives here said. The former northern Kentucky Boy Scout executive has been in the Army 14 months. He was an officer in the ROTC having graduated from Western States Teachers College at Bowling Green.
Since he became attached to the Army, Lieut. Cloe has been in several southern army camps and at several fields. He was originally a member of the 24th Infantry. Lieut. Cloe was trained to fly the type of plane used by Brig. Gen James Doolittle and his fliers when they bombed Tokyo.
Delmar D Cloe, a brother, was in attendance at the graduation exercises Friday. Another brother, Allen G Cloe, is with General Motors. After graduation, Lieut. Cloe probably will be sent to Key Field at Meridian, Miss. he stated in a letter to his father.
