Kentucky Post, Tuesday, 20 January 1903, page 4
In the wee small hours of Sunday morning, the strange noise came from the cellar of Davis millinery store on York Street in Newport Ky. Dr. Kate Roebuck and Mrs. Davis agreed burglars are in the pots and pans in the pantry.
Mrs. Roebuck rushed from the house and called the police. It was the house cat cold and had been clattering among the pipes and hot air ducts of the furnance trying to find the warmest spot.
