RITES


Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 am Tuesday at Corpus Christi Church, Newport, following prayers at 8:30 am at William C Betz funeral home, Newport, for Mrs. Katherine Guerrea, widow of Joseph Guerrea, who died Saturday at her home, 1005 Ann street, Newport. Burial will be in the St Stephen Cemetery.

Mrs. Guerrea was the mother of Frank Midge Guerrea, former member of the Newport School Board, who resigned last year to join the Navy. He is now a petty officer first class, stationed as an instructor at the Naval Training Station at Norfolk Va. Midge Guerrea was a widely known boxer, trainer and referee prior to joining the Navy.

Mrs. Guerrea was a member of St Cecillia Court and the Supreme Auxillary of the Knights of St John. She leaves three other sons, William and Anthony Guerrea, both of Newport, and Joseph Guerrea, Cincinnati; three daughters, Miss Stella Guerrea, Newport; Mrs. Josephine Goldkiller, Mariemont O. and Mrs. Betty Simmons, Cincinnati and one grandchild.
