NEWPORT
DEATH OF MRS. JULIA HOLMES-Mrs. Julia Holmes, a most estimable
lady, died at the residence of her son-in-law, Captain W N Air, yesterday
morning of asthma. Mrs. Holmes was in her seventy first year. She
was kind and charitable and loved by all who were so fortunate as to know her.
Her charity was a modest kind. She seldom ever wished it known that she
had in any way, assisted those who were poor or and needy.
She was an active member of the Ladies Aid Society and was a heavy contributor to all who applied to that Society for aid. Mrs. Holmes has been a resident of Newport for over a quarter of a century. She leaves a very large estate in Cincinnati to Mrs. W N Air and Mrs. R G Hayman, her only children. Due note of the funeral will be given.
