Joseph Wall

Kentucky Post, Thursday, 4 March 1909, page 5

Joseph Phister of Ninth and Isabella sts. Newport, received today two three inch shells from Joe Wall, battle ship Kentucky. The shells which have been used are about 24 inches in length and are attracting much attention.

Wall is a Newport boy and he is now serving his second enlistment in the Navy. About a year ago he returned to Newport, having served out his first enlistment. His home coming, instead of being a joyful one, was one of sadness. During his service in foreign waters both of his parents died, and his first intimation of their death was when he arrived at his former home.
