ON A SAW
Joseph Rieddinger Probably Fatally Cut

Newport Engineer Is the Unfortunate Victim

Joseph Rieddinger, an engineer employed at Voss' planing mill on Seventh Street, between Patterson and Brighton Streets, Newport, was probably fatally cut on a saw in the mill at 9 o'clock Friday morning.

Rieddinger was on a ladder, when it slipped, throwing him on a splitsaw that was revolving at a rapid ratio.

When he was picked up a long, deep cut was found on his right arm near the elbow and one on the right foot.  Both cuts were to the bone, and he soon grew weak from the great amount of blood lost.

Drs. Jenkins, Anderson and Brown were called and sewed up the gashes, and he was removed to his home, 224 East Tenth Street.  Rieddinger has a wife and three children.  His wounds may prove fatal.
