Citizens of Finchtown, just south of Newport, are circulating a petition, to be forwarded to Washington, to have a mounted carrier deliver mail in that vicinity. It is said the present arrangement for the delivery of mail is unsatisfactory. Congressman Gooch has promised to assist in having the carrier appointed.

Postmaster Meyer has named James Taylor to succeed Joseph O'Neil as carrier in the Bellevue district. Taylor is popular in Newport.
