NEWPORT
One of the big horses that pulls the ladder truck at the One's
Firehouse fell on Fireman Joseph Maus yesterday morning and wrenched the
latter's shoulder severely. Maus was cleaning the horse when an alarm sounded.
The animal made a break for the door and its hoof slipped.
As the horse fell Maus was underneath but by a quick jump escaped the full weight.
