Miss Agatha Klump, 1321 S Alexandria pike, Ft Thomas, and Miss Josephine Bussell, 726 York st. Newport, constant friends for more than 10 years, together filed their applications for the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. They will leave for their basic training at Daytona Beach, Fla. shortly.

The two WAAC members were former neighbors and a close friendship has extended over the past years. The young women were working together at the time of their enlistment at the Southwestern Publishing Co Cincinnati, where they were employed as office workers. Very excited over their decision to enlist in the corps, they signed their applications Nov 17. Miss Bussell received her notice to report before Miss Klump.

Miss Klump received her notice a few days later to report at the same place. Although Miss Bussell does not have to report until two days later than Miss Klump, they are leaving together, as they have done everything together for the last 10 years.

News heralding the safe arrival in New Guinea of Sgt. Josephine Bussell, of Newport and Cpl. Agatha Klump, of Ft Thomas, which has been received here, reveals the part that "Uncle Sam" has played in reuniting the two WACS. Prior to joining the WAC in December 1942, the two were constant companions and were co-workers at the Southwestern Publishing Co Cincinnati.

From the moment they enlisted together in November 1942, the girls were not separated until they completed their basic training at Daytona Beach, Fla. The two were even sworn in simultaneously in December 1942. After they had completed their initial training, Sgt. Bussell was sent to Ft Edwards, Mass. and Cpl. Klump went to Ft Jackson, South Carolina.

They were united when they received orders at the same time; were sent out on the same ship and are now quartered together somewhere in New Guinea.
