On August 8th, of the year 1816 at Newport, Kentucky, it was stated that the said pensioner had served in the capacity of a private soldier in the company under the command of Captain Benders in the 50th Regiment. And he signed his name to the discharge which was an honorable one given to the said pensioner, who had been injured in the chest and which caused a very severe cough for him in the future.
