Joseph M Brafford, 78, of 27 Park av. Clifton, a resident of Newport more than a half century, died at his home late Monday night. He was a member of the Knights of Phythias for more than 40 years. He is survived by a widow, two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Moore, Hamilton O. and Mrs. Nellie Burkett, Allendale O. and a son, Duncan Brafford of Newport.
Brafford was a civil war veteran and a member of Eureka lodge, Kof P for almost 40 years. Funeral will be held at Evergreen Chapel Thursday afternoon at 2:30.

Members of the Eureka lodge No 7 Knights of Pythias of Newport met Wednesday night at Castle Hall, Fourth and York streets, to take action on the death of Joseph Brafford, who died Tuesday at his home in Clifton.
