It has been frequently reported here and in Newport that Lieut. Joseph Bennett, formerly on duty at the Newport Barracks and as Quartermaster Sergeant of the Sixth at Ft. Thomas, had died in the Philippines. His many friends will be pleased to learn that he is alive and well and on duty in the Island of Negros as First Lieutenant of the Philippine Scouts.
