CIGARETTE CAUSE
Albert Zimmerman, 19, of 314 East Ninth-st, Newport, who was with Joseph Bengel, 18, of 930 John-st., Newport, when Bengel was jolted from a C. & O. freight train and killed near Dayton, Ky, testified before Coroner DIgby Monday. Digby was told the two youths had made several trips on freight cars. Bengel was rolling a cigarette when the train lurched and as he was not holding on, according to witnesses, he fell under the wheels.
Mrs. Bengel said her son kissed her good-by when he left home Saturday night, saying that he would return home early.
