NEWPORT
Eugene Dittoe, Wm Klotzbach and a young man named Tracy strolled
out the Alexandria Pike to the Two mile House Saturday night for the purpose of
having some fun, and it is needless to say there was plenty of it, but all on
the other side. Judging from their appearance when they struck Newport this
morning.
The above name trio engaged in a difficulty with a young man named Huber, who went after them with a club, and never stopped until he had them all floored. Dittoe, who was badly cut about the head was carried into the dairy stables of Thos Jolly, nearby, where he remained the balance of the night. Klotzbach struck the town about dinner time and repaired to the office of Dr. Adam Mysonheimer, where his wounds were dressed. What time Tracy got in is not known.
