John Weckman, 70, brother of J P Weckman, President of the German National Bank, died last night at his residence, 1021 York st. Newport. He was a veteran of the Civil War and has resided in Newport since 1849. He is survived by a widow and three daughters.

CIVIL WAR VETERANS
The funeral of John Weckman, (sic) of Newport, took place yesterday
afternoon with services at the residence, 1031 York st. Rev Carl Schaeffer
officiated and the services were attended by a number of war veterans. The
members of Wm Nelson Post, GAR were also well represented and their burial
service was held at the grave by the following officers:
Commander Chas Warner; Officer of the day, John Stebbins; Outer Master, Hugh Schaeffer and Post Commander G W Armstrong. The pall bearers were the four grandsons of the deceased-John, Charles and Don Reckner and Jos Henderson.
