Big Damage Suit on Trial
A jury before Circuit Judge Yungblut at Alexandria, spent the day
yesterday hearing evidence in the big damage suit of John Wagner's administrator
vs. the California and Gubser Mill Turnpike Company for $20,000 damages.
The suit is an echo of the accidental killing of Wagner near California several months ago, when his horses became frightened and, it is alleged, went over an embankment that should have been protected. Another suit against the same corporation is to be tried, in which Henry Dicken is the plaintiff.
His team, it is alleged, also went over an embankment and he suffered severe injuries.
