JOHN V TRAPP RITES SATURDAY

Services for John V Trapp, prominent retired Campbell county farmer and civic leader will be held at the residence at 1:15 pm and at St Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, Alexandria, at 2 pm Saturday.  Burial will be in Alexandria cemetery.  He was 77.

Mr. Trapp died Thursday at his home, Route 2 Licking pike near Riffle Creek road, following an illness of 10 days.  A lifelong resident of Campbell county, he died in the same house in which he was born.  He and his brother, the late Joseph Trapp, at one time owned Licking pike, then a toll road which was later sold to the county fiscal court and is now a state highway.  His career included engaging the the banking business in Alexandria a number of year ago; president of the Campbell County Agricultural Society, operators of the Alexandria Fair for several years and presidency of the Campbell County Board of Education for a number of years.

He and John W Reiley, former county superintendent, co-operated in bringing many improvements to the rural schools.  Mr. Trapp, who was active in fraternal and religious affairs, was a member of St Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, Alexandria County, Junior QUAM and Southern Pride Council, Daughters of America.  He was a widely known Republican leader in the county's rural section.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Katie Trapp; two sons, George and Joseph Trapp, both of Alexandria; three daughters, Mrs. Amos Rinehard, Newport, and Mrs. Arthur Reinhardt and Mrs. Cletus Bellum, both of Alexandria; two brothers, Henry and Louis Trapp, Mt Healthy O; and one sister Mrs. Leonard Herbst, Alexandria and four grandchildren.

The Muehlenkamp funeral home, Alexandria, is in charge of arrangements.
