FOUND DEAD
The body of John Volmering, 30, residing with his brother at 625
Dayton street since he left his wife, was found on the river bank below the City
Park early yesterday morning. There were no marks on the body and no evidence of
suicide or foul play were at hand.
When found Volmering's arms were outstretched and his shoes were barely touching the water. Coroner Digby was sent for. He found that Volmering's wife had left him about three weeks ago and taking their three children went to the home of her mother. On Wednesday night the deceased went to his mother-in-law's home and tried to borrow some money, but the latter, whose name is Mrs. Schweitzer, refused to give him any.
Tuesday night it is claimed that Volmering made threats that he would do away with himself. Mrs. Volmering claims that she was compelled to leave her husband because she was afraid he would do her harm. Coroner Digby thinks that Volerming died of exposure.
