and his clerk, Gene Norris with adhesive tape and then fled with $22.90.

Search was being made by Newport police for the youthful
bandit who is believed to have been wounded Saturday night after holding up the
drug store of Stanley Ulrey, 1101 Columbia street, Newport. George Simpson,
butcher in a grocery adjoining the pharmacy, fired one shot at the thief as he
ran to an auto following the holdup. Mr. Ulrey and his clerk, Gene Morris, were
in the drug store when the bandit entered and at the point of a revolver forced
his two victims to lie down on the floor behind the counter. The thug took $25
from a cash register.
