Julius Vaden Thomasson was born in Virginia? 24 Mar 1800 (all census records say he was born in Kentucky, but his father does not show up on the tax records until 1807). He went to Cincinnati in 1819 where he lived and followed the trade of a plasterer until 1836. He is listed in the Cincinnati directories for 1831, 1834 and 1836. In 1836 he removed to Butler in Pendleton Co where he spent the rest of his days. He was a member of the Christian Church for sixty years and during the Civil War he was provost marshal and served several terms as magistrate. From the Hawkins records it appears that Julius had a general store on the Licking River near Butler. He died 24 Jan 1890 in Butler and was buried in the Butler Cemetery
