SERIOUS CHARGE-John Surran, of this city, was arrested by the military authorities, a few days ago, on the charge of holding correspondence with the enemy. A letter written by him to his brother Thomas Surran, in the rebel army, counseling the latter to remain where he is and continue to fight against the Government; representing that a military despotism existed hereabouts, was found in Covington at a place where it was to be called for by one Lafayette McLung, who , it is supposed would take it to its destination. McLung is a paroled prisoner. He was arrested and is now confined in Covington.
